What is an oral argument in a Florida divorce court appeal?

An oral argument is a short, twenty minute to one hour long hearing.  During an oral argument there is not any testimony from witnesses.  Instead, the hearing involves the attorney for each party explaining to the appellate court judges why a divorce court judge’s decision should be changed or kept in place. Although the attorneys will go to the oral argument hearing with a pre-planned presentation, most of the hearing typically involves the attorneys answering specific questions from the appellate court judges.
